Explore two of San Francisco’s oldest and most culture-rich areas – North Beach and Chinatown. Hear stories of rebellion, free-lovism, and counter-culture on this casual walk around the neighborhood.

Time: 10am every day except Wednesdays; 1pm Thursday-Saturday; 2 hours

Distance: 1.5 miles, generally flat

Sites: Chinatown Dragon Gate, Chinatown Waverly Place, Jack Kerouac Alley, City Lights Bookstore, Caffe Trieste

Cost: $30/person public, private tours $250 for up to 10 guests

Group size: up to 10 people; children under 16 not suggested due to adult themes

Starting point: Chinatown Dragon Gate, directly accessible via multiple Muni line; this is a point-to-point walk–the ending point will be different from the starting point

Logistics: Rain or shine; bathrooms available along the route; good walking shoes needed; layers recommended as the weather is unpredictable
